Weddings
A ceilidh is a great way to start the evening entertainment at a wedding. It is great fun, and a truly memorable way of getting everyone up and dancing, from young children to grandparents. We can provide you with an evening entertainment package tailored to your specifications. There are several packages available:
Background Music, Ceilidh and Disco Combination
Our most popular package starts with Saxophone, Keyboards, Bass Guitar and Drums playing a variety of popular songs (Pop/Easy Listening/Show Tunes/Jazz Standards) to provide background music whilst the evening guests arrive and assemble. During the first dance the players swop instruments to the ceilidh line up to provide one or two sets of ceilidh dancing. The evening then finishes with a disco using the band’s PA equipment with additional lighting effects. Gordon, our caller, becomes our DJ and can base the disco on songs chosen by yourselves to make it personal to you.
Traditional Ceilidh
An evening of ceilidh, starting with an opening waltz or first dance followed by a mixture of ceilidh dances including The Gay Gordons, Dashing White Seargent, Strip the Willow, Swedish Masqurade and a Cumberland Reel.
Ceilidh and Covers Band
Ceilidh Knights can provide packages to suit weddings where there is a need to meet a variety of musical tastes. The evening starts off with a Ceilidh, but then with addition of a lead electric guitarist and male and female vocalists, the band transforms into a spectacular Covers Band. Music changes from Dashing White Seargent and Strip the Willow to Valarie and Breakfast in Tiffany’s.
Other Wedding Music
In addition to the ceilidh band we can provide other wedding entertainment from a String Quartet for the ceremony and drinks reception, background music for the wedding breakfast, to a Covers Band for later in the evening. This is co-ordinated through North East Soiree, a group of local professional musicians who provide live music for events. As the same players are in the different groups, discounts are available to provide an individual full entertainment package, leaving you free to relax and enjoy your wedding day.
